Change your first impressions

Change your first impressions:

I told myself stories of what I was ‘allowed’ or ‘not allowed’ to do but I also decided not to listen to those stories and to try something different. The something different in this case also included being accountable to my friends for what I said I would do, and I also knew that I could commiserate with my friends if I were rejected. This experience became one of many that started to re-write the script in my head. I also started to leave behind those early labels for others in the community as I started to meet and date more people who did not conform to those labels.
